    Last night my beloved Southern Proper introduced their Southern Proper Ladies Collection:Spring 2016. Southern Proper has been around for 10 years (time past by real quick) catering to the Crispy Southern Gentleman by offering bow ties to pretty much becoming a one stop shop for everything preppy; quilted jackets, tartan hats, and pants. Now women will no reason to borrow SoPro clothes from the guys! Southern Proper put in a lot of hard work into designing the collection for women which looks great! Southern Proper Anniversary Collection Preview

    Southern Proper makes it in my top 5 list of favorite brands. I’m usually wearing something from Southern Proper. I was given the privilege to view the 10 year anniversary collection last month. I can't believe 10 years have already past.Thank you very much by the way I had a fantastic time!!! I can’t mention it enough. From a consumer standpoint Southern Proper has showed immense progression. A brand that began with T-shirts and Bowties is now has a pretty wide range inventory to keep the Proper gentleman and women crispy. Founded on strong southern values style, tradition and authenticity. I see now why I like the brand so much since I believe very strongly in those traits as well.

Bean is a classic brand that has a strong relationship with classic Americana fashion. Most of you prep enthusiasts own several items from the legendary outdoor brand. The problem about L. L. Bean is that people view the brand more suitable for Fall/Winter fashion. I urged to not believe that stereotype L.L.Bean has a fantastic warm weather collection for womens.

      One of my favorite models and probably the greatest model to ever to grace Ralph Lauren advertisements have been super model is Clotilde, aka Kristin Clotilde Holby Darnell. Some of my favorite Ralph Lauren advertisements. Ralph Lauren once again took a page from the older brother (Brook Brothers), Brooks Brothers had a great success when they collaborated with Vogue Magazine and launched in 1949 the pink tailored shirt which was basically men’s pink button-down polo tailored for women. This shirt was a best seller and crucial point in the progression of Womenswear. In 1954, Brooks Brothers in NYC opened a counter for women to buy men’s shirts. In 1971: Tailored Shirts for Women Debut  and the polo player logo is introduced the same year, first appearing on the cuffs of women’s shirts.

   I'm a big fan of of J. McLaughlin if you didn't know. I should be writing more about the brand since the headquarters is located across from where I live. From the crispyarchives here's a J. McLaughlin advertisement  featured in Cosmopolitan magazine from 1987!True Prep at its finest washing a Mercedes Benz while wearing plaid. Loving the shoulder pads!!!

Brooks Brothers Camel Hair Polo Coat for Women

    Hello, my fellow female readers when it comes to dressing warm and maintaining business appearance the camel coat is perfect for the job. The camel coat is an example of investment pieces that my parsimonious self truly values. Buy it once and it will always look good. The camel coat isn't for the person that is indecisive and every year is following new trends emptying out the winter wardrobe in summer and trade-in the summer wardrobe in the fall.    In the past days, I kept finding myself checking out images of Lee Radziwill style. She is flat out the complete package flawless and graceful. Enjoy your Saturday morning with this beautiful image of her taken by Mark Shaw. In the image, she's wearing a gorgeous cape and dress by Nina Ricca. I love everything about this picture. There's a balance throughout the picture with a perfect choice of colors of the dress, to Lee Radziwill hair style and how can I not mention the elegant interior design.

   Living in New York City with fashion week going on is pretty impossible to avoid. On the subway well dressed people with their cameras looking anxious to see the show. Plus with social media, which has a dramatic impact on our lives, it pretty much keeps us informed. Oscar De La Renta was pretty much the craze everywhere. It didn’t bother me it. Each time I saw the name Oscar De La Renta I felt pretty darn proud. The name Oscar was introduced me at a young age (5 years old to be exact) when I mentioned to my mom that I had an interest in fashion. It was a big deal cause he’s been a fellow countryman. Any true Fashionista’s definitely know that the man designed spectacular fur coats for women.

 Enjoy this picture from founder Ernestine Bayer that dates back to you 1938. Ernestine Bayer contributed to women's rights by forming the first rowing club for women Philadelphia Girls' Rowing Club (PGRC) in 1938. I absolutely love the androgynous look.

   A couple of days ago I presented the  2014 L. L. Bean fall/winter look. One of my favorite pieces of the brand was the Town and Field jacket.  Which in my opinion is relatively affordable at $200. This jacket is a great alternative for the girls that want a Barbour which can be expensive or want that another option than the J. Crew boyfriend jacket.  While the town and field jacket is fifty dollars more than the J. Crew boyfriend jacket. I was really happy to see this jacket bought back from the archives. Throw Back Preppy Thursdays:Lilly Pulitzer 1976 I LOVE LIZA

 

   

   One of my favorite and influential designers to me is Lilly Pulitzer. I never take my wardrobe too seriously. She best said it the best, “Life's a party, dress like it"! I like being myself. I wear go to hell pants, bright yellows and Kelly green chinos. Pants and shirts with sea animals embroidered all over. Bright needlepoint caps, that's my wardrobe and that's how I live it makes me happy my party and I'm the host live yours. I wear my outfits more than once and wear them with wrinkles I don't care I'm having fun. Enjoy the wonderful pictures from this 1976 Lilly Pulitzer catalog. I believe that's actually Lilly Pulitzer daughter Liza Pulitzer on the cover. Liza Pulitzer is one of her three children. Liza Pulitzer was a dress designer for Lilly Pulitzer, designing the company's Junior Line. If that's her for sure then that dress was most likely designed by her. After that, she became a very successful real estate agent in Palm Beach. Ladies comment what you think?
