      One of my favorite models and probably the greatest model to ever to grace Ralph Lauren advertisements have been super model is Clotilde, aka Kristin Clotilde Holby Darnell. Some of my favorite Ralph Lauren advertisements. Ralph Lauren once again took a page from the older brother (Brook Brothers), Brooks Brothers had a great success when they collaborated with Vogue Magazine and launched in 1949 the pink tailored shirt which was basically men’s pink button-down polo tailored for women. This shirt was a best seller and crucial point in the progression of Womenswear. In 1954, Brooks Brothers in NYC opened a counter for women to buy men’s shirts. In 1971: Tailored Shirts for Women Debut  and the polo player logo is introduced the same year, first appearing on the cuffs of women’s shirts.

Brooks Brothers Camel Hair Polo Coat for Women

    Hello, my fellow female readers when it comes to dressing warm and maintaining business appearance the camel coat is perfect for the job. The camel coat is an example of investment pieces that my parsimonious self truly values. Buy it once and it will always look good. The coat would look enchanting paired with a pair of riding boots, a tweed waistcoat and fox fur bubble hat. Regardless, maybe you don't want to dress like this all the time. That's OK, because the camel coat looks pretty damn crispy and casual with a pair of slacks and penny loafers mixed in.    In my opinion, the country jacket looks great over a sports coat on a businessman. I had a similar outfit like that one yesterday when I was previewing a building with a client. Brooks Brothers and Beretta have this awesome collaboration, a country coat, made from a breathable waxed cotton. The waxed cotton has  wind and water-resistant properties which  keeps you dry and warm in the fields. The jacket has double-zippers, corduroy collar, rainproof inner cuffs and a signature tartan detail at interior. All the usual characteristics of a quality country/game jacket. Underarm ventilation. This week I have been wearing my Brooks Brothers Shetland fair isle wood sweater religiously because it's the holiday season. Brooks Brothers definitely are in my top three list when it comes to my favorite holiday advertisements. When I have time or before I go to sleep, the holiday catalogs are my preferred reading time in Decemeber. The advertisements shown on todays post are from three catalogs which date back to 1948,1952 and 1967.

Throwback Prep Thursday: Brooks Brothers Head of Charles Regatta 2010

The Head of Charles Regatta was going on a week ago in which it celebrated its 50 year anniversary. I wasn't able to attend, but I attended the event through social media. Let me take you back to memory lane  2010 with an advertisement from their Fall catalog "Back to Campus, Back in Town".  Brooks Brothers was the Official Apparel Sponsorship of the Head Of The Charles Regatta that year.

The uniforms were ready made for prompt delivery and immediate use. These advertisements are from the early 1940s, but Brooks Brothers were supplying uniforms for armed forces long before.
