Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X Watch

Last month I was invited to the release of the Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X watch. I had a great time at the event, I bumped into a few old friends, which is always great. Honestly, before I went to the event, I read information about the watch and I was pretty impressed. The watch does things that very few watches can. I was impressed, but not to the point of me desiring a watch.

If you aren't familiar with Victorinox, the brand invented the Swiss Army Knife, which is a pocket knife with various tools like a bottle opener, scissors, tweezers, toothpick, corkscrew and nail file. All these tools come in handy in some awkward situation in your life whether you need to open a champagne bottle at a party or to cut a box. The Swiss Army Knife made a cultural impact, the name is usually mentioned when talking about reliability, longevity and being able to adapt in any situation. The knife was invented in 1891 because the Swiss Army needed a knife for their soldiers that can be used to open canned food and also disassembled a Swiss service rifle Schmidt-Rubin M1889 for cleaning. It became very popular after world war II as a lifesaver in numerous occasions.

It takes a lot of courage to name a watch after the legendary pocket knife. There's a reputation at risk. It's 130 years since the Swiss army knife has release and to celebrate Victorinox is releasing a watch to commemorate. To mark the occasion, Victorinox Swiss Army has I.N.O.X., a new watch that pays tribute to the history and industrial know-how of the brand by showcasing the values that have made it famous: authenticity, strength, quality, expertise and Swiss design.
The I.N.O.X is an elegant Casio G shock to give a comparison. The watch was design to be indestructible and it really lives up to its name. The watch was put through 130 tests. The brand's testing team sacrificed no fewer than 421 I.N.O.X. prototypes over a period of six months. The I.N.O.X was put through some tests that you most likely won't come across in real life. The watch can withstand 10 meter drop into concrete, which is the equivalent to three stories. It can withstand being ran over by a 64 ton tank. You can go diving at pretty deep depths since the watch has a rating of 200 meters, which is the equivalent to 600 feet. Temperature shocks from -57 ° to +71 °Celsius. This corresponds to the standard set by the US Army for the manufacture of missiles. Nothing comparable exists in the world of watchmaking. It will remain harmless to chemical attacks by all kinds of fuels, oils, solvents, cleaning products, insecticides ... including sulfuric and nitric acid solution. Again, a standard not for watches, but for the military, borrowed from the US Army. Exposure to a flame at a distance of 5mm for more than one minute, which corresponds to a temperature of +1,200 degrees Celsius. This would be a great watch for a firefighter, welder or plumber. The watch is functional in the glacial cold it will non-stop and without complaint, even when frozen in an ice cube for 168 hours. Extreme conditions at a stratospheric altitude of 21,300 meters, which is twice the height at which the airliners fly.

Frozen but working
While most people won't be dropping their watches near a military tank or a dropping it from three stories. These performances are useful in real life situations like dropping your watch on the sidewalk you don't need to worry about scratching it or damaging the movement. If somehow you leave your watch in a pocket and you take it to the washing machine don't worry. The watch is water-resistant and hot or cold water won't do any harm.

With all the capabilities that the watch can do. You probably would think that watch is bulky and ugly. But on the contrary the watch is very elegant. Usually rubber straps on a watch always add a sporty element. However, not on this watch. The reason is the rubber straps are really overshadow by the beauty and elegance of 43mm stainless steel case. The polished hexagonal bezel with the combination of a solid color dial (Black, Navy, and Olive) and red second hand makes you want to stare the watch endless. Its size is very similar to the average diver watch at 43mm. You don't need to worry about banging around the watch and getting it scratch since it has scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with triple anti-reflection treatment. It comes with a removable black silicone and nylon bumper for added protection which you really don't need. The watch has a swiss made Ronda 715 movement. Stamped indexes and luminescent hour markers and minute hands. Military time on the flange and date window at 4:30.
In conclusion, the watch really raised my eyebrows. It's a complete package from stunning looks to functionality. The Victorinox I.N.O.X watch is the kind of watch you keep on your wrist on your wrist in any situation whether it's swimming, fighting a fire or dealing with harmful chemicals because it has your back. It really captures the robustness and reliability of the Swiss Army knife. The watch isn't as expensive as you think retailing for $ 525.00 and it will be your companion for life. Go Buy
