York River Traders Mariner Rope Belts

I always love coming across a new brand. I came across to York River Traders on instagram which I highly recommend to all my preppy enthusiast readers to check out their belts. Spring is here and it's time to put away the leather belts and bring out the motif belts. York River Traders were started by siblings, Ted and Madeline in 2012. The fundamental's on which the brand built on was their combination of their love of sporting and the outdoors with their appreciation of function, craftsmanship and style. Growing up, Ted and Madeline spent much of their time outdoors on the southern coast of Maine (York Harbor to be specific). York Harbor has provided much of the inspiration. York River Traders is an homage to the aesthetics of New England sporting life. What caught my attention of the belts was it didn't have the usual motifs of nautical coding flags and sea animals. The belts have a very original design being crafted with a rigging line. I asked Ted where did the ideal of rigging line come from? He said, “We always liked the look of rigging line and thought it would make a terrific belt. It's succinct and recognizable without being gimmicky. We also felt it was a great way for the wearer to express their love of the coast, sailing, etc.”. The belts are backed with high quality leather and a solid brass compass. The belts are made in New Hampshire.
