Throw Back Preppy Thursdays: WoolRich Woolen Mills 1962 Ivystyle

WoolRich Woolen Mills
Today from the Crispyarchives enjoy this ad from a heritage brand that I truly love and greatly respect. This advertisement is dedicated to everyone that comes from the Ivy league area that attended any of the top 8 Ivy League schools. This is a 1962 ad from Woolrich in which features three students from Harvard, Yale and Princeton.  I completely agree wool is better it lasts longer and feels better. Wool is the reason why I look forward for fall. Wool has that feeling that polyester can't achieve. Wow check out the prices for the clothes wish clothes were still that price. Students should dress like also remember first impression said a lot enjoy. Oh yeah I'm wearing a WoolRich sweater. These  young scholars are on the right foot by wearing the essentials a true gentleman should have in his closet a toggle duffle coat, Blizzard coat with a shearling on the collar and a Popover. I'm taking notes, you should as well!

The Trench coat shown in this advertisement is the Burberry Tielocken. The Tielocken is the father of the modern day trench coat. It was originally worn by military officials. It was introduced in 1895. Designed by Thomas Burberry, he developed a gabardine which was a very light fabric that was tear proof and waterproof. The yarn was waterproof before weaving. The jacket was very convenient it was breathable; it had very little buttons only one button which it was located on the upright collar. It was a long overcoat with overlapping fronts. Sid Mashburn X Tretorn Nylites Dayglow

Tretorn Nylites

preppy tennis shoe

I was checking the Sid Mashburn website and came across to these bad-boys. These Tretorn Nylites e a little bit under the radar. I should add them to my shoe collection. This was collaboration by Tretorn with Sid Mashburn for the "The Nylite Project" which resulted of a limited edition Nylite in an awesome colorway closely resembling to a tennis ball. The shoe went through a dyeing process to achieved this wicked neon. For the people not familiar with  Sid Mashburn, it's one of the best Men's clothing stores in South. These shoes are limited to 250 pairs. I'm surprised that's a lot of sizes still in stock. Which is tempting to me, but I promise myself no more footwear spending. Go get them now
