My two picks from Murray’s Toggery for July 4th

Murray’s Toggery

Murray’s Toggery

With the fourth of July coming soon. I'm sure everyone is planning their outfits. I highly recommend for you to check out a Murray's Toggery for some authentic American preppy style. I honestly think that every preppy enthusiast, male or female needs a Nantucket Red Collection "Nantucket" Baseball Hat. A baseball cap the same shade as the famous Nantucket red pants? Yup! I need that cap in my closet ASAP. The cap only cost $30.00. I can only imagine the wonderful patina this cap will get after protecting your head from sunlight and rain. The famous pink patina that you get on the classic chinos. I love wearing go to hell or critter pants whatever you prefer to call it. It doesn't get better than whales on your nantucket reds chinos. The whale pants  go for $125. Just like the cap these go to hell pants will age gracefully and you will be the coolest guy on the 4th of July barbecue or country club.

Summer is my favorite season because I can wear seersucker. Seersucker is one of my favorite warm weather fabrics, and it should also be yours. Seersucker is a preppy stable, especially in the southeast. This warm weather fabric is usually worn on Easter, and to horse events like the Kentucky Derby, Harrington Cup, and Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.  For all my menswear enthusiasts I highly recommend them to check out Paul Fredrick for seersucker suits. Summer is the season that you should be wearing light and breathable fabrics. So put away that navy blazer away.
Seersucker a light, thin fabric, usually cotton or linen with a crinkled surface with a usually blue or red striped pattern. Seersucker is breathable, lightweight, dries quickly and it doesn't wrinkle easily making it the perfect summer fabric. No-one wants to be ironing in the summer. The name seersucker originates from the Persian word "shir o shekar," meaning "milk and sugar". The famous summer fabric was first mass produced in 1907 by a New Orleans clothier. I highly recommend everyone to check out Paul Fredrick summer collection because they're offering very crispy seersucker suits. The summer collection consists of various seersucker apparel, colorful dress shirts and patterned ties. The appropriate apparel you should only be wearing at the time of sweltering heat.
Paul Fredrick is the one stop that I recommend you to get all the seersucker apparel for this summer. Paul Fredrick has seersucker jackets in single breasted with two-buttons and in double-breasted. The two button single breasted jacket looks great worn unbutton. A great warm weather layering piece if the weather isn't so warm, add a vest under. The single breasted seersucker jacket looks great on the gentleman on the shorter side because it creates the illusion of a longer torso frame. The single breasted jacket goes for $ 175.95. The double-breasted seersucker jacket will guarantee to give you a compliment. The double-breasted seersucker jacket will make you look like an Italian blogger at Pitti Uomo which is a good thing. Those guys can dress. The double-breasted seersucker is a very conservative piece. This is my favorite piece of the collection  and it should also be yours with the great price tag of $169.95. Another reason I like the double breasted jacket more is because it's more of a protagonist it draws the eyes in more than a single breasted jacket. Show up to any event and you will be the center of attention.  I would pair the shirt with Melon Solid Contrast Trim edge stitched straight collar because I love the contrast of the blues and melon color.  Check out the link for other wonderful shirts . Not only is this shirt a great choice of color, but this shirt looks great when you remove your jacket because the shirt has detailed trim inside the cuffs and neckband. I would add the suggestion of a monogram on the cuff because you can never have enough monograms. The shirt goes for $79.50. This blue paisley Italian silk tie is perfection.  A paisley tie makes the outfit come alive.  The paisley tie goes for $44.95. The summer collection at Paul Fredrick looks fantastic, I highly recommend all my menswear enthusiast readers check it to out

If you didn't notice I'm a huge fan of  vintage  L.L. Bean advertisements. I had the privilege to view their 2014 fall/winter collection yesterday. Stay tuned guys for an upcoming post. I really like what they did with the Chamois shirt also known as "The Shammy". The Shammy is a L.L. Bean preppy and outdoor staple. It falls in the same group of must haves like L.L. Bean boots, Norwegians and camp socks. For 80 years, it has been a classic. Leon Leonwood Bean introduced the shirt in 1927 as a leatherette shirt, but  he renamed the shirt Bean Chamois Cloth Shirt in 1933. He also tested the shirt for two years in his usual hunting trips. What I liked the most from the Mr. Bean was that every product had to meet his expectations before coming out to the public. Chamois a soft cloth fabric made in imitation of chamois leather. The name “Chamois” or “Shammy” comes from the name of the  mountain goat  found in Eastern Europe. This goat leather was very supple and soft. It was mainly used in gloves in the late part of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th. The name chamois was then applied to the thick  and tough yet soft cotton flannel shirts because it had similar characteristics. The shirt is perfect for the outdoors because it's thick, wind resistant, warm,. It features double needle stitching in key points like armholes, sleeves and side seams. Loving the prices on the advertisements!

My three picks for Father's day from Tuckernuck

Southern Proper Patchwork Plaid Bow Tie
Vineyard Vines fish hook belt
Smathers and Branson needlepoint flask

It's very difficult choosing only three items from Tuckernuck. My three picks are accessories that men can never have a lot of. A man can't never have enough belts or bow ties. The patchwork Plaid Madras bow tie from Southern Proper is a must for any preppy dad. Standout loud and proud with this bow tie. My second pick would be the Vineyard Vines fishhook which I have been obsessing for a while. This belt goes perfect with a pair of boat shoes, chinos and nice gingham shirt. Help your dad drink his liquor discreetly with this needlepoint flask from Smathers and Branson. Flask is the perfect size to keep in the back pockets or in the field coat. We men appreciate the small accessories.

Florsheim By Duckie Brown Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Florsheim By Duckie Brown Fall/Winter 2014 Collection
I think I actually have a good reason to look forward for fall and winter. Florsheim by Duckie brown  fall/Winter 2014 collection  looks fanstastic! I'm beyond impressed with the line offering various footwear silhouettes for all kinds of occasions. Florsheim has been around since 1892. Duckie Brown collaborating with Florsheim brings out a more modern and youthful however, yet classic appeal. Duckie Brown plays the role of mixing uncommon color ways that aren't usually seen in dress shoes like mustard and bright blue in dress boots. Which sets them apart from the others menswear footwear brands. The double monk strap I'm completely obsessed and I'm sure every male fashion enthusiast will as well. The monk strap will be available at Barneys. My second favorite would be the pump shoe. Pump shoes are the highest level of formal shoes and I was quite impressive to see them in the look book. Perfect shoe for black-tie events. They should never be worn with jeans. The beefroll penny loafers looked great, I'm really digging the color-ways especially the olive green. What i love about the collection is the versatility you have colorful leathers, suede and quilted patterns. The collection is very solid featuring various styles of dress shoes like double monk strap, saddle shoes, cap-toe, derby, penny loafer, chukkas, and the ever-classic brogue cap wing tip from Florsheim.
