Rugby Ralph Lauren Fox & Rifle Velvet Slippers

 We're in December a month full of events like tree lighting, holiday parties, and good end of the year concerts. A great alternative to formal shoes for men is the velvet slipper. Earlier today, I was checking out the Rugby's website and came across to these dapper velvet slippers. Last month I posted these velvet slippers. I automatically fell in love with these slippers for many reasons. Anything green, pretty much sells me, I always have something green on me. This crispy looking velvet slipper was bench made in England by Bowhill & Elliot. Bowhill & Elliot have been in the shoemaking business since 1874. The slippers are embroidered with a fox and rifle.  Today's vintage advertisement is by Norman Hilton. Norman Hilton and his family has built a reputation in the Ivy League look community for their quality jackets. Norman Hilton had great advertisements which demonstrated great style that in my opinion are better than the ones today. In this advertisement, the Topcoat is featured with nature shoulder construction with tweed as the choice of fabric.Study this advertisement and stay crispy my friends!!

Black Watch

It's December and the holidays are here. Gant Rugger has menswear cover for the holidays. The looks by GANT for December are infallible. The lookbook consists of preppy classics like black watch pattern which stands out everywhere. Crispy recommends everybody to have a blackwatch pattern item. Too many classic pieces like plaid blazer, trench coats, and mackintosh coats. Different looks for various occasions, which I recommend men to take notes from. Throw Back Prep Thursdays J.Press 1959 Sweaters

Prep throwback Thursday is brought to you by J.Press. This might be one of my favorite advertisements I have posted so far. The advertisements come from the 1959 catalog, featuring quintessential Ivy League items normal in any preppy household in 1959. The 1959 catalog had classic sweaters like, "The Shaggy Dog, Shetland Sweaters, and the Danish Irish fisherman" for men and women. I wonder why J.Press no longer sells their timeless sweaters to the female audience, which I'm sure would be a hit. I wished I had a time machine to relive this time and be able to buy these sweaters at those prices.

Hi preps! The other day I was checking out G.H. Bass & Co and I came across to these gorgeous Weejuns. The Weejun is a quintessential shoe that I highly urge any prepster to have in their closet. The Weejun is usually seen in the popular burgundy color way. Being the owner of two pairs of Bass loafers one being black and the other one being burgundy, I literally had a panic attack when I saw the new color ways of green and blue. Any prep wear enthusiast for a fact knows that they can never be satisfied with owning one color of the weejun. L.L. Bean Lounger Boot is Back

 A very popular item from L.L. Bean is back. The much requested L.L.Bean Lounger Boot has return for 2012. The Lounger Boot is a prep classic especially in the South. I never understood why it was discontinued. The boot has an adequate height of nine inches with an adjustable buckle. The boot will be only be available in Men sizes. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes available in women's sizes in the future since it was  popular with women in the 80s. The boot will be sold on the L.L.Bean Signature line.

Last week, I mention Ralph Lauren launching their Ralph Lauren Vintage line. The new line seems like it's going to be a great success. Last week, I checked out the website on its first day (Wednesday) and on Thursday many items were sold out. I'm aware of the vintage Polo phenomenon, but wow one day later so many items sell out? Ralph Lauren "Western Collection" captivates America on point during the Western times. I have been visiting too frequently the website because it puts me in a different time.
